My baby girl! I decided to keep her years before she arrived! As a responsible breeder I have been working towards my ‘mating pair’. This is where the breeder has bred both parents of a litter. Lots of people achieve this quite casually, as they have lots of litters and have several different lines in their kennel. For me it has been a real journey! Quin finally joined our family in 2021 and then just 10 months later, Murmur arrived.
Appearance and Temperament
Murmur is lilac and white, like her mum, Ounce. But unlike her mum, she has grey eyes and a longer, silkier coat (Ounce is more fluffy).
Murmur is the sweetest, kindest, most gentle dog I have ever owned and probably one of the nicest I’ve ever met. She is so calm and chilled, a bit like Busy (her grandmother), only more so.
Of course Murmur loves to run and play around with the other dogs and play with toys. She is a Border Collie after all! NB: IF you want a ‘calm’ dog, do NOT consider a Border Collie. Murmur is relatively calm! She is keen to do what you want, but will quietly get on with it, rather than rushing. We feel that Murmur is a thoughtful dog, who takes herself quite seriously.
Top training
I have been working with Murmur from the day I kept her and she is generally well behaved. She took a while to master ‘down’ but once she has it, it’s just there. She has no vices to speak of, (well the usual BC trait of not welcoming a dog in her face!) I started taking her to scentwork last Autumn and she is doing really well.
I had her assessed to go into school aged 9 months and she does this so well, being gentle and calm with all the children. Murmur has been to Crufts with Busy, to the Bark and Read stand, representing Canine Concern, who support us volunteering in school.

NB: Murmur has perfect hips! This is a big deal, because it means that my breeding has improved the health of the dogs I produce. Hopefully she will produce perfect puppies 🙂

Future litters
I am hoping to have three litters from Murmur and Quin in the future, with the first litter planned for late 2024. I have several enquiries for puppies every week, so don’t hold your breath if you want one.
