6 Months old today!

They are still babies, but are also starting to look (and behave) like grown-up dogs.  Here is the feedback I have had from the other four homes:

“Ella is an absolute delight, she really is. She has such a lovely temperament and so pretty. Her recall is now second to none. She can go for a wander but as soon as I blow the whistle she comes tearing back. Lead walking still a  bit of a struggle, as is jumping up, but we are getting there.”

“Flo is a smashing girl who loves everyone and everything except her dumbbell. We are working on that; she is coming along very well with all other aspects of her obedience training, she is so quick to learn. She is also becoming the perfect family dog both in and out of the house. Thank you so much for letting me have her. If I ever want another collie I know where I will be going.”

“I’ve attached a picture of Bella taken over Christmas, wearing her Christmas bandana which the kids couldn’t resist.  She’s doing so well and continues to be a real joy.  She’s so affectionate and very attentive – great praise from the trainers at Obedience Class last night.  She’s still a bit of a madam when we’re out walking.  She recalls selectively, particularly when we get towards the end of the walk.  She’ll come back to me, then side-step me, and if she had fingers, would definitely stick two up at me as she sails past!  I’ve been working really hard with her – carrying treats, honking pig, squeaky lamb etc and pretty much acting like a one-man dog entertainer.” [Typical of a 6-month old!]

“Willow is a beautiful girl – a bit of a monkey and loves chewing though, so our kitchen chairs are a bit worse for wear! She’s doing really well with her training, although she’s still a bit jumpy with people as she wants cuddles all the time. She’s the most affectionate dog I’ve ever had and she loves snuggling up if I sit on the floor with her.  I’ve rather crazily decided to do the Great North Run in September and Willow is a great running partner as she’s much happier going at running speed than when I walk with her – she doesn’t pull, is not at all fussed by people going by and just stays glued to my side.”

Lovely feedback, lovely homes.  I am thrilled with my own princess, she is very bright and such a lovely nature.  Makes me very proud!

Happy 1st Birthday!

lt sounds as though this litter have celebrated their birthday in style!  They also seem to have turned out quite well, as you can see from the comments that came with the photos:

“Have sent you couple of pics of Symi. I do not know where the time has gone. He is a gentle and loyal dog loved by all. He loves the snow!!  We celebrated his birthday at school. We all had biscuits and watched a slide show of pics taken since March.”

“Attached are a few photos of Pippin and his first experience of the white stuff…  He celebrated his birthday by buying myself and work colleagues cake, while he tucked into sausage rolls, very naughty. Pip is still as vocal as he was right back in the beginning, greeting all-comers with a howling hello. He is pretty much the friendliest dog in the area and has turned out to have a wonderful nature.”

“Here’s one we just took of Ollie we’ll try to get a better one of him outside over the weekend and send it to you for the website.   He is a lovely healthy and obedient dog who is known by everyone who lives around here and they all adore him.   We could not be happier with him.”

“Tog had a lovely birthday playing with his Labrador friends then going to school (obedience) having a long walk. Then a special tea and of course several new toys! How much more fun could a boy want! Until today when he woke up to his first snow how much fun was that, he exhausted himself running around with his friends! He has just had a suckle with his favourite duck and now fallen asleep with his best friend! Tog is as fab as ever… What can I say perfection!”

“Please find attached a couple of pictures of Spoons in the snow. A year has flown past! His voice is developing with more growls, howls and squeaks, he has always got something to say!”

“Attached is a photo of Bertie taken by Stephen in the garden a few days after his first birthday. He is a lovely and very handsome dog! He races about on walks but is sometimes very solemn at home. Mostly a model dog – unlike our elderly collie Rhum!”

“Cant believe this cheeky boy (Copper) is a year old tomorrow! Time has flown by! I’m so pleased with him, he is such fun. :o”

Happy 3rd Birthday first litter

Happy birthday to our first litter of puppies!  It’s lovely to see how they all are and have recent pictures of them.  Barney’s owner commented on how talkative he is and this is a trait he shares with his siblings and mother.  They like to greet you in the mornings and will chat away if there is something worth telling you, or you aren’t doing something they want!   People sometimes mistake the ‘woh woh woh’ noises for growling, but it is definitely just them letting you know who they are. Sunny is very good at singing ‘happy birthday’ so she sang to Luna yesterday, with Luna joining in with a few harmonies.
